? A local rescue organization has removed dozens of cats from the apartment of a Brighton Beach woman who was collecting strays.
Barbara Berger had collected more than 40 stray cats and was keeping nearly 30 in her Coney Island Avenue apartment. Berger?s landlord recently informed her she faced eviction if she didn?t limit herself to two cats.
Brooklyn Rescue Umbrella took 25 of the animals and is trying to find them new homes. The organization hopes to take more cats from Berger as the first batch is adopted out.
