Local eateries in Bay Ridge say they're feeling the pinch because food vendors are hurting their business.
Food cart vendors are easily accessible along 86th Street, where they can be found on almost every corner. Josephine Beckmann, a member of Community Board 10, says regulations on food vendors haven't changed with the times and have hurt local merchants.
Councilman Vincent Gentile has proposed creating a "vendor-free zone" that would help protect local eateries.
