Controversial atheist billboard hits roadblock in Williamsburg
A controversial billboard looking to reach atheists in the Hasidic and orthodox-dominated community of South Williamsburg is on the move.
The group American Atheists says the sign was supposed to be unveiled on top of a building on South 5th Street, but that local rabbis asked the owner of the building not to put it up.
The billboard writes out the name of God in Hebrew and in English. It also says in Hebrew, "You know it's a myth ? and you have a choice." The billboard is expected to go up in a new location about a mile away.
