The Department of Education (DOE) is coming under fire for it's handling of asbestos removal inside a Carroll Gardens school.
Parents from P.S. 29 protested this week after they say the city's School Construction Authority told them that the asbestos abatement work would begin this weekend. They say they want the DOE to stop work until the kids are out of the building for the summer.
In a statement, the DOE said, "Like similar projects across the city, the area will be cordoned off and student safety will be our highest priority."
