Service has been restored to about 50 percent of Gravesend residents who were without gas since Tuesday, the utility says.

According to National Grid, 300 crew members have been working around the clock for three days after a water main leaked into a gas main, affecting 1,200 homes along Ocean Parkway between Avenue U and Avenue Z.

Residents who are still waiting for their gas service to be restored say that it's been difficult to go without hot water and a working stove.
