Nazareth H.S. saved from the chopping block
Students and supporters of Nazareth High School have reason to celebrate after finding out the school will no longer be closing its doors for good.
The Board of Trustees voted to shutter the Catholic institution earlier this year because of financial trouble and low enrollment, but students, parents and teachers rallied together to save the school.
The group held several fundraising events, including a walk-a-thon this month, to raise 99 percent of their $700,000 goal. The school also needed to enroll 80 freshmen for the upcoming year and it got 81.
