Man accused in police shootout arraigned from hospital bed
The man accused of opening fire on seven NYPD officers in a Sheepshead Bay hostage situation was arraigned from his bed at Kings County Hospital today. Nakwon Foxworth, 33, is facing seven charges of attempted murder for allegedly wounding four officers and attempting to kill three others. Detectives say they also discovered a slew of illegal weapons and ammunition inside Foxworth's apartment. Police say Foxworth barricaded himself inside his Nostrand Avenue apartment with his pregnant girlfriend and their baby on April 7. Once his girlfriend and child were able to escape, police entered the apartment, at which point Foxworth allegedly opened fire. Police say they returned fire, shooting Foxworth in the stomach. He's still recovering in the hospital from the gunshot wound he suffered.
