A man accused of killing and dismembering his roommate appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing.

Sergey Mamonov was arraigned on murder charges last week, and prosecutors say he is being held without bail.

A criminal complaint says Mamonov confessed to police that he beat his roommate Aleksandr Zilbergleyt to death during a fight last month at their apartment on Nostrand Avenue. Mamonov then allegedly dismembered his body.

Police say they found Zilbergleyt's remains inside a freezer in the apartment.
