Police believe an elderly couple died this morning inside their 69th Street home as a result of an apparent murder-suicide.

Police responded to the residence at around 7 a.m. after a home aide called 911. Upon arrival, 74-year-old Vincent Tropeano and 63-year-old Elain Tropeano were both found dead. Detectives believe the husband shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

Neighbors say Elain Tropeano suffered from multiple sclerosis for years, and her husband likely killed them both to take her and himself out of misery.
