City heads off hurricane season with reminder

City officials are warning residents to make sure they're ready for this year's hurricane season.

Emergency management officials gathered in Red Hook for Hurricane Preparedness Week, choosing to make their presentation in the neighborhood due to the severe flooding it experienced during Hurricane Irene last summer.

People in the area say they're prepared for a major storm after last summer.
