Vigil held for victim in Furman Avenue fire
Family and friends came together for a vigil Monday to remember the victim in a fatal Bushwick fire over the weekend.
Loved ones met at 47 Furman Ave. where Lorena Escalera was found dead in her apartment Saturday morning. They say the 25-year-old transgendered woman kept a low profile, despite taking the center stage in nightclubs across the city.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation and officials are calling it suspicious.
