Contractor: Bay Ridge sinkhole repair could take months
As crews work to repair a massive sinkhole on 92nd Street in Bay Ridge, the contractor working on the repair says it could take two to three months before everything's back to normal.
Officials working on the sinkhole say it appears to have been caused by the partial collapse of a sewer line under the street. Residents say they noticed the sinkhole yesterday when it swallowed a tree in front of a music studio. Crews say the sinkhole is 70 feet deep and 12 feet wide.
People who live on 92nd Street say the only real issue they have with the repairs is all the noise from the repair crews.
