Sources say a 14-year-old boy is brain dead after being shot in the head last night in Bushwick.

According to police, Akeel Christopher was walking home from a party last night when an argument broke out between his group of friends and another group at Evergreen Avenue and Cornelia Street. Gunfire then erupted, and police say Christopher was shot in the head. A neighbor said she ran out of her house to give him CPR, but found him unresponsive.

Christopher's stepfather says doctors are waiting for swelling to go down before they remove the bullet. Christoper is at Brookdale Hospital in Brownsville.

Police are still looking for suspects.
