Long wins GOP Senate primary, faces Gillibrand in the fall
Wendy Long is projected to win the Republican primary for Senate with more than 50 percent of the vote, she will face Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in the general election.
In the 7th Congressional District, Rep. Nydia Velazquez won a four-way primary for the democratic nomination.
In the 8th Congressional District, Hakeem Jeffries defeated Charles Barron to win the Democratic nomination to replace retiring Rep. Ed Towns.
In the 9th Congressional District, Yvette Clarke defeated Sylvia Kinard to take the Democratic nomination.
The general election will be held on Nov. 6.
