Drivers in Sunset Park and Greenwood Heights are getting a temporary break from weekly street sweeps.

The alternate side parking rules are suspended between 15th Street and 65th Street from Fourth Avenue to the waterfront while new signs are installed to reflect street cleaning reductions.

Community Board 7 is the first to cut back on the sweeps from twice to once per week since the City Council passed legislation on it last year. To qualify, neighborhood streets must meet city cleanliness standards for two consecutive years.
