Brooklyn amidst summer's first heat wave

After three straight days with temperatures above 90 degrees, Brooklyn is in the midst of the summer's first heat wave.

Commuters at the Atlantic terminal were using different strategies to beat the heat while waiting for their air-conditioned trains. Many had bottles of water, towels and fans for their faces.

Commuters say some train stations are hotter than others but rank Atlantic as one of the cooler terminals.

Officials have advised residents to seek air conditioned areas and to check on elderly neighbors during the recent heat surge.
