Additional trains pull in to L stations
Nearly 100 additional trains are now pulling in to L stations in an effort to ease overcrowding on the popular subway line.
Officials say that 98 weekly round trips have been added to the schedule, with a train coming in every three minutes during morning commutes. Midday and weekend L trains will also arrive a minute and a half earlier than they used to.
Straphangers say they hope the changes are effective in reducing their wait and travel times.
The added services will cost the MTA about $1.7 million more each year.
