Authorities have arrested a Sunset Park doctor on charges that he wrote and sold fake painkiller prescriptions.

Dr. Shaikh Monirul Hasan is accused of writing painkiller prescriptions in the names of people who were not his patients. Authorities say Hasan would sell the prescriptions to other people, who would then have them filled. Some of those drugs ended up being sold on the streets.

Hasan is facing 32 counts of criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance. Authorities say they have seized electronic and paper records, as well as $150,000 in cash.
