Sheepshead Bay merchants worried about crime spike
Sheepshead Bay merchants say they are growing fearful of increased crime and reconsidering staying in the neighborhood. The latest incident, caught on surveillance tape, shows nearly a dozen men robbing Bionic Bagels on Nostrand Avenue. Store owner Mike Urciulo says the business used to be open 24 hours a day, but now he takes orders through a small window at night. A statistics report from the 61st Precinct indicates a rise in several different types of crimes since 2011.
