Responders save one of kitten's 9 lives
Firefighters and animal control officers banded together today to rescue a kitten stuck in a Canarsie tree since yesterday.
Residents say they had been outside until 1 a.m., trying to free the stuck kitten, which had gotten caught under a branch. Animal care and control were called and were unsuccessful in their efforts until the fire department arrived to help. After bending the branch, the kitten was freed.
Animal control says that once the cat is examined and determined to be healthy, he will be put up for adoption.
