Police: 2-year-old, five others hurt in Brownsville shooting

Police say a 2-year-old and five others are recovering in the hospital tonight after a shooting in Brownsville.

First responders say the 2-year-old was shot in the leg on Riverdale Avenue at around 7 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses tell News 12 Brooklyn that the shooting happened just steps away from a playground.

Police believe a white Nissan Altima with Florida plates may be involved in the incident.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
