Earlier storms cause damage in Brooklyn

Storms that rolled through Brooklyn this morning left some residents in Crown Heights picking up the pieces after lightning strikes caused damage.

Lightning is believed to have struck a building on Brooklyn Avenue between Sterling Avenue and Empire Boulevard, causing a number of bricks to fall off and strike a car.

Officials say no one was hurt by the falling bricks and that the sidewalk was blocked off afterward.
