NYPD Commissioner Kelly honors BK grandmothers
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly invited dozens of Brooklyn grandmothers to police headquarters today to recognize their anti-crime contributions to the borough. The group, Grandmothers Love Over Violence (LOV), was started around two years ago with the goal of keeping youths off the streets. Activists also serve to support fellow grandmothers dealing with tragedies that leave them in charge of their households. Kelly presented the group with certificates, pins and a special tour of police headquarters.
