Residents in Sheepshead Bay say they are sick and tired of all the noise from a car wash on Coney Island Avenue.
Neighbors of Z-Best Car Wash say the business is so loud they have to wear ear plugs in their own homes.
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) says it has received numerous complaints about the business and issued a number of summonses to the business.Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-Sheepshead Bay) says that the business is operating illegally. He has asked the city's Environmental Control Board to issue a cease and desist order at a July 31 hearing.
The DEP says the issue of the car wash will be discussed at a board meeting next Tuesday.
