Child caught after falling 3 stories from Coney Island window
Witnesses say they are in awe today after a child who fell three stories from a Coney Island building was caught.
The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. at the Coney Island Houses, located at 30-30 Surf Ave.
Witnesses say children playing outside saw a little girl standing on top of an air conditioner three stories high. The children pointed out the 7-year-old girl to a nearby man.
Officials say the man ran toward the building and caught the child just as she slipped off the AC unit. The man, who many are calling a hero tonight, was identified as 52-year-old Steve St. Bernard. St. Bernard says he tore a tendon in his arm during the catch. The little girl is expected to make a full recovery
