PAL launches 11 'Play Streets' in BK

The Summer Play Streets program is in full swing, bringing Brooklyn kids a slew of activities to enjoy outdoors this summer, from sports to crafts to music and dance.The Police Athletic League (PAL)'s summer program closes off streets, playgrounds and parks to provide children with safe, supervised places to enjoy outdoor activities. PAL is operating nearly 50 Play Streets across the five boroughs this summer, including 11 in Brooklyn. Play Streets are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 24 and are free for all. The following are Brooklyn's designated Play Streets: - Kelly Playground Between Avenue S and 15th Street - Fox Playground Between E.52nd Street and Avenue H - Carnarsie Playground/ Seaview Park Seaview Avenue - Rewald Salgada Park Madison Street (Behind P.S. 309) - Mellet Park Avenue V - Paerdegat Park Foster Avenue - Parham Playground Aldelphi Street - 61st Street Between 4th and 5th Avenues - Flatlands Family Shelter 108-75 Avenue D, Linden Boulevard - Rodney Park North South 5th Street and Marcy Avenue - Grace Playground Vermont Street Between Pitkin and Belmont Avenue
