D line shuts down for 2 weeks for track and signal work
The D line will be unavailable for two weeks as MTA crews perform maintenance work to upgrade the tracks, leaving commuters with delays and business owners with a drop in customers.
A free shuttle bus along Stillwell Avenue has been provided for commuters, including students from John Dewey High School. Students say waiting for the often-crowded bus is unbearable because of the hot weather.
Business owners in Bath Beach say their stores are emptier in the morning without the subway operating.
