Second worst landlord in NYC making repairs
Tenants in the Crown Heights apartment building whose landlord was named the second worst in the city say improvements are slowly but surely coming.
The landlord was recently put on the 'Worst Landlord Watch List' after the New York Public Advocate realized the 40-unit building had more than 650 violations. Tenants in the building say it is less than half full because the apartments are filled with mold, have leaks and broken floors.
The super of the building told News 12 Brooklyn that he is currently renovating other empty apartments in the building and moving tenants into those as soon as possible. He also said that he has already installed a new security system at the front door that comes complete with an intercom and a video camera.
With continued improvements, tenants are hoping the building will be off the watch list in the near future.
