Police: Toddler shot in leg in Bed-Stuy

Police say a 3-year-old toddler was shot in the leg while playing outside in Bed-Stuy earlier on Sunday.

The shooting occurred at around 4 p.m. at 383 Pulaski St. near Broadway Avenue. Police say the toddler was outside playing in the sprinklers when he became caught in the crossfire of a shootout.

A witness says that a man in a grey car fired nine shots into the courtyard before taking off. Sources say that grey car later crashed, allowing police to catch one suspect.

Emergency workers rushed the toddler to Kings County Hospital. Officials say he is expected to survive.

Police are still looking for the other suspects involved.
