Farmers market reports slower sales amid extreme heat
There were fresh fruits and veggies aplenty at the farmers market in Carroll Gardens today, but there were not too many customers out looking for produce, mostly because of the heat.Farmers at the market on Carroll Street by Smith Street say the heat wave has driven down sales. The farmers say having a tent set up at the corner helps keep their produce fresh, but even so, a fresh turkey stand says sales dropped 50 percent. The Carroll Street market is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.News 12 BK Weather Center
