Prospect-Lefferts Gardens residents angry over piled-up garbage
People living in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens have reached out to News 12 Brooklyn for help, saying Ocean Avenue has become a makeshift dump where people are leaving their garbage.
Residents say trash has piled up for days on the part of Ocean Avenue adjacent to Prospect Park and that they want the issue resolved. Others say they're worried about rats and other vermin showing up, as well.
The Parks Department says trash should be cleaned every day, but with conditions worsening, neighbors have taken matters into their own hands and formed their own clean-up committee.
