Con Ed and union continue contract talks
Con Edison and its workers' union are still working on new contract negotiations.
About 8,500 employees have been locked out since Sunday, when their contracts expired. With the high temperatures continuing, voltage has been reduced in parts of the city. Con Ed officials say the move is a precaution to conserve energy.
Currently, 5,000 managers are doing the work of 8,500 union employees. Con Ed, union workers resume negotiation
