BK subway mural receives national recognition

An art installation entitled "Brooklyn Seeds" located at the Avenue U subway station was voted "Best Public Artwork" nationwide by Americans for the Artist.

The artist, Jason Middlebrook, created the piece over a three-year period for the MTA's "Arts for Transit" program.

Middlebrook says living in Brooklyn was the inspiration behind the piece, and it means a lot to him that it will be there forever. To hear an extended interview with Jason Middlebrook, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
