The Urban Animal Alliance (UAA) is hoping to plant seeds of kindness in Brooklyn neighborhoods by bringing children closer to their four-legged friends.
The nonprofit organization does community outreach and education aimed at ending cruelty toward animals.
?When kids see that animals can help them and make them feel better, they're less likely to fight them later on in life and treat them compassionately,? says UAA member Palesa Melvin.
Members of UAA say they also want to create permanent curriculum within the schools focused on teaching children how to love and treat animals.
