3 Brownsville NYCHA buildings lose power after manhole fire
Residents living in three Brownsville NYCHA buildings were without power this morning and into this afternoon after a manhole fire.
Official say that wires in a manhole began to smoke at around 10:30 a.m.
Con Edison crews had to shut off the power to investigate the cause and residents lost power for about three hours until generators were brought in to restore power while crews worked to restore the regular power supply.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
