William Boyland Jr. wins 55th Assembly District primary
The results are in and incumbent Assemblyman William Boyland Jr. has won the Democratic primary for the 55th District seat.
The primary vote almost guarantees that Boyland will get a sixth term in office after November's general election, despite accusation that the longtime politician accepted bribes.
Boyland edged out a slew of candidates vying for the nomination, including Roy Antoine, Nathan Bradley, David Miller, Christopher Durosinmi, Anthony Jones and Anthony Herbert.
Boyland was arrested last year on bribery charges in the borough after being acquitted in a separate bribery case in Manhattan.
