Innovative school offers H.S. diplomas and college degree
An innovative school located at the Paul Robeson High School campus will allow students to graduate from high school with a college degree in addition to their diploma.
P-Tech, which currently has 50 students taking classes, houses students from ninth grade through 14th grade. Come graduation, students leave with an associate degree from the New York City College of Technology.
The students, who do not have to test into P-Tech, follow a curriculum that emphasizes information technology and calls for advanced classes for students beginning in ninth and 10th grade.
The school also partners with IBM to provide mentors and internships for its students. P-Tech hasn't graduated its inaugural class yet.
