Improvements being made to deadly BK thoroughfare
The city has begun to make improvements on one of the deadliest roads in Brooklyn after years of deaths, accidents and complaints.
Crews began work along Fourth Avenue to change the traffic pattern, add pedestrian islands and widen medians.
The Department of Transportation says the road has left at least 88 people dead or severely injured since 2006. The department also says that about 70 percent of drivers speed down the road.
