Traffic concerns grow as Barclays Center's opening date looms
As opening day for the Barclays Center nears, residents in the surrounding area are beginning to worry about traffic congestion.
Developers say residents shouldn't be too worried, stating there are only 550 on-site parking spots. The shortage of parking was designed to discourage people from driving to events at the center.
Residents say the small amount of parking spaces won't do much, pointing out the private parking garages have announced that they will accommodate some of the event goers. The center is even offering a free shuttle to those who drive.
Developers say they plan to continue to study traffic patterns once the center opens.
