1 dead, 1 injured in partial building collapse
City officials have launched an investigation into what caused the partial collapse of a Fort Greene building earlier today.
One construction worker was killed and another injured in the collapse. The Department of Buildings (DOB) says the men were loading concrete blocks on the roof during the collapse.
Rescuers responded to the four-story building at 214 Carlton Ave. at around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The workers were removed after becoming trapped under the debris Monday morning.
The DOB says it will interview other construction workers who were on the scene at the time of the collapse. Forensic engineers will also be on hand to take a look at the debris.
