Police: Double shooting, 2 stabbings leave 2 dead after parade

As the West Indian Day Parade winded down along the Eastern Parkway, police say a double shooting and two separate stabbings left two people dead.
Just before 6 p.m., officials say a man and a woman, both in their early 30s, were shot in the hip in front of 650 Eastern Parkway, right along the parade route. Police, who are still searching for the suspects, say both are expected to be OK.
Around the same time just a few blocks away, a man was stabbed in the neck at Bedford Avenue. The victim was brought to Kings County Hospital where he died.
According to officials, another man was stabbed in the neck. Police say the 26-year-old did not survive the attack. One person is in custody in connection with the deadly attack.
Last year, two men got into a fight just steps from the parade route. Both men and a 57-year-old woman who was innocently sitting on her stoop were killed. Two officers were also shot but were not seriously injured.
Police say all of the outbreaks of violence are still under investigation.
