Carroll Gardens residents fight proposed homeless shelter
Outraged residents in Carroll Gardens are fighting a homeless shelter that is set to open in their area.
The planned shelter will open at 165 West 9th St., in the center of a residential neighborhood, and will house 170 men.
Neighbors say they're angry because they were notified about the shelter without being given a chance to weigh in on the idea. Many also argue that the building is not able to house so many people.
