Police confirm threatening note at murder scene of bride-to-be
Investigators are confirming that a disturbing note was found under the body of a murdered bride-to-be in Brownsville.
According to police, Vindalee Smith was stabbed to death just a day before she was set to be married; however, her fiance was still legally married to a New Jersey woman.
In a second twist to the crime, authorities say a typed letter from the scene said that a pregnant woman would die every day until D.C. sniper Lee Boyd Malvo is released from prison. The 27-year-old is serving a life sentence for his role in the 2002 murders in the Washington metro area.
The mother of four was also eight months pregnant, but her baby boy did not survive. Her fiance and family have been questioned, but no arrests have been made.
