Police are on the hunt for a suspect who stabbed a mother of four Saturday morning in her Brownsville home.

Family and friends describe Vindalee Smith, who was eight months pregnant and set to be married at a Brownsville church today, as happy and an avid churchgoer. The unborn child did not survive the attack.

Family members say that Smith's baby shower was supposed to be held last night.

Police say there was no sign of forced entry and no weapon has been recovered. News 12 Brooklyn was told that Smith's fiancé was at the scene of the incident Saturday and was questioned by police but is not a suspect.
