A major restoration project is under way at Plumb Beach.Erosion has jeopardized the beach and the nearby Belt Parkway for years. The project will dump tons of clean sand in the area. Phase 1 of the project began last week and will run until November. Phase 2 of the project begins in December and is scheduled to wrap by spring of next year. When complete, the new beach will be about 100 feet wide and 15,000 feet long.
