BK charter school gets 'A' on progress report

A Brooklyn charter school has improved its standing with the Department of Education. Educators say the Department of Education gave the Flatbush-based Explore Charter School an overall grade of an 'A' this year, up from a 'C' last year. The K-8 school is comprised of a mostly black and Latino student body, and a majority of those students come from low-income families. There are four Explore schools with two additional schools approved to open in Brooklyn.
