Ribbon-cutting ceremony held for new Bay Ridge arts school

After three years of construction, the Bay Ridge community was finally able to cut the ribbon for P.S. 264, a new school that will center around teaching through the arts.
The principal for P.S. 264 says it is much easier for students to learn when they are actively and creatively engaged.
?We?re trying to give a well-rounded arts education to the students because not only does it raise your self esteem, it actually improves cognitive functions in your brain,? said one teacher.
The new school cost $40 million to build.
