Brookdale Hospital opens doors to Sandy victims

Brookdale Hospital and a branch of the federal government are reaching out to Sandy victims.

Soon after the superstorm hit the area, Brookdale Hospital opened its doors to extra patients. In order to accommodate the influx of patients, members of the United States Public Health Service stepped in and are offering support to the hospital. In addition, the facility reopened two floors that were not in operation.

The president of Brookdale Hospital says its doors will be open for patients who were evacuated from nursing homes and hospitals for as long as it takes for them to recover.
