Hugh L. Carey Tunnel reopens to rush-hour buses
The Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, formerly known as the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, reopened for limited rush-hour buses today.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) express buses from Brooklyn and Staten Island were able to use one lane for inbound service from 6-10 a.m. and one lane for outbound service from 3-7 p.m.
The tunnel has been closed for two weeks due to flooding from Sandy.
