New Yorkers are turning out in droves to aid in Sandy relief efforts across New York. Hundreds of New Yorkers boarded buses in Manhattan today and headed to Coney Island, Staten Island and the Rockaways.

Volunteers head to Coney Island, Staten Island, Rockaways
New Yorkers are turning out in droves to aid in Sandy relief efforts across New York. Hundreds of New Yorkers boarded buses in Manhattan today and headed to Coney Island, Staten Island and the Rockaways. Volunteers are helping people in remote, flood-damaged neighborhoods by sorting donated goods, checking up on residents, delivering supplies and cleaning up parks. Several volunteers also helped clean up Coney Island's beach and boardwalk today following Hurricane Sandy as part of the New York City Parks Department's recovery efforts.
